US restrictions on petrol imports to Iran foiled by India and China

Attempts by the United States to restrict petrol imports into Iran are being foiled by India and China, whose companies have moved in to sell to the country instead, according to analysts.

Restrictions on American companies trading with Iran, and pressure on other western oil companies to follow suit, threatened to limit petrol supplies to the country.
